National Student Researcher's Conference 2025 - Successful organisation and performance from our Faculty!
Successful organisation, satisfied guests, outstanding results in Pécs - the 37th OTDK's (National Student Researcher's Conference) Physics, Earth Sciences and Mathematics section in Pécs has come to an end.
For the second time since 2001, the University of Pécs, Faculty of Sciences hosted the Physics, Earth Sciences and Mathematics section of the seventy-ear-old National Student Researcher's Conference. In the Physics, Mathematics, Earth Sciences and Social Geography subsections, the competitors presented their research in a total of 40 sections. During the three days, the organisers also offered a wide range of other professional, leisure and sporting activities to ensure relaxation and to introduce the guests to the university city-like atmosphere of Pécs.
As the host, the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Pécs has no reason to be ashamed, as our participants achieved one of the best results in recent times.
Our students achieved the following results:
- 1st place - 5 students
- 2nd place - 2 students
- 3rd place - 1 student
- Special awards - 7 students
We congratulate not only them, but we also thank those students and their supervisors who have not won an award, but have gained a wide range of useful experiences.
As a closing act of the session, Dr. András Trócsányi, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, handed over the torch, not only symbolically but also physically, to the representatives of Óbuda University, who will host this similar section of the 38th OTDK in 2027. The competition would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors, who have helped in various ways to make it happen - a full list of whom can be found on the competition's website. The main organisers of the event in Pécs, executive secretaries Dr. Péter Reményi and Dr. Éva Máté, and coordinator Mónika Kovács would like to thank the staff and students of the Faculty of Sciences for their voluntary work, which made the smooth and successful organisation of this great event possible.
